Leon (Leo) Joseph Belanger
Trooper Leon (Leo) Joseph Belanger (L-39111) served with the Saskatchewan Horse and The Fort Garry Horse, Royal Canadian Armoured Corps, during World War II. Enlisting in military service from June 16, 1941, to February 11, 1946, he served in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe. For his honorable wartime service, he was awarded the 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, War Medal (1939-45), and Normandy Medal.
